Chefs for Seniors was founded in 2013 by Barrett Allman in Madison, WI. As a restaurant owner, he notice seniors were struggling with preparing meal for themselves and came up with the idea of an in home meal prep service for seniors so they could age in place. His son soon joined him allowing for company expansion and franchising into other states. The first franchise opened in Massachusetts recently and is owned by Executive Chef John O’Neill. John joins me as my quest and shares his personal story and passion for cooking, helping seniors and adults with disabilities. He explains in detail how the service works to include the consultation, kitchen inventory, customized menu planning, grocery shopping then in home meal prep. He then prepares for us one of his recipes called brown rice with sizzling chicken and vegetables. Absolutely delicious!!
